The Pick: Fashion Unites

Fashion is coming together in support of Ukraine, with Ukrainian creative Olya Kuryshchuk of 1 Granary publishing an open letter ‘Fashion Unites Against War’ — calling for the industry to unite against the war taking place in the eastern European country.

Major brands like Balenciaga and its parent company Kering are making public statements, donating to the UN World Food Programme and the UNHCR while Budapest-based brand Nanushka partnering with the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta, to help provide accommodation, food, clothing and transport for Ukrainian refugees.

So what can you do to support Ukraine through fashion? Paris-based brand Elleme, which has team members across Ukraine, has set aside all its blue and yellow products on its online store – with 100% of the proceeds from these sales going towards UNICEF’s Ukraine appeal
